Mouse won't click in the bottom tab part

HP Recommended
Envy 13-d108TU

My laptop has suddenly stopped allowing me to click in the bottom tab (I don't know the proper name for this area) but I can't click on the start button, opened tabs, the wifi button to connect to internet etc but it will click anywhere else! Very frystrating and I can't get hold of any HP support in the phone.

Hi @Katy221

Thank you for your inquiry, I will do my best to try and  help.

It is my understand that your Start menu is not responding when you click on it. Sometimes a simple restart will resolve this issue. If that is not the case here,please create a restore point to come back to. HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 😎
Now try these steps and let me know how it goes.

  • Right click on the start button and choose command prompt admin
  • Type Powershell and press enter
  • Type Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

You may see a lot of code come up on the screen, but do be concerned. Once it has completed, exit out and try the start menu
