Hello I've been having some difficulties with my laptop for the pass 3 to 4 days. At times it will just completely shut off before the login screen, and other times it will shut off after I have logged in. Other times I will be in the middle of doing something very important and it will completely shut off and won't come back on for at least 20 minutes. I have no idea what is going on if somebody could please help me with this issue that would be great, please and thank you!

Hi @Psychoreptile12,

Welcome to the HP Forum!

I am pleased that you have become a HP Forum member.  It is such a wonderful site to find answers and tips. Here is a link to the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More for you to have the most rewarding experience and answer any concerns about posting.

I grasp that for the last 3 or 4 days your notebook has arbitrarily shut down without warning. Does this occur regardless if you are running on battery or connected to AC?   When this happens, does the notebook feel warm?  Troubleshooting an Overheating and Auto Shutdown Issue.   I would also test for hardware failures.  HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 10, 😎.  To thoroughly test the memory you could consider using MemTest86 and run it several times.  HP does not recommend any third party software, so this is just a suggestion that people have availed themselves of.

Please let me know the outcome.

Please click the Thumbs Up” below to thank me for my efforts! If one of my posts help you to resolve the issue you are experiencing, please click the "Accept as Solution" so that others who may be having the same difficulty can find the answer more efficiently. Thanks for taking part in the HP Forums!
