I came across your post about the notebook not starting, and wanted to help!  I understand that the notebook will get stuck on the HP logo during startup.

 

To start, can you provide me with the Product Number of the notebook?  Here is a link you can use that will help you find your Model and Product Number:

If the computer locks up at the HP logo screen, then try cleaning the computer vents with compressed air.  Restart the computer.  If you are still having trouble after that, then try reseating the Memory Modules.  Please post back with the results.
