My laptop keyboard sometimes works and most of the time doesn't work.

HP 15-AC101TU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My keyboard as well as virtual keyboard behave irratic and even sometimes doesn't work at all. Sometimes only tab, backspace and I key work and sometimes with internet browser keys work as if they are pressed with cntrl key. By pressing f it opens find window. Sometimes work normal as if there was no problem. Problem is very frequent.

@Shashi77

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the laptop keyboard doesn't work at times,

Don't worry as I have a few steps to help resolve your concern,

Let's start with the simple steps,
Besides you'll be surprised how many issues a hard reset can resolve:

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.

  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  5. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

  6. Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.

  7. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.

  8. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

  9. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.

  10. After reconnecting each of the peripheral devices, run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all device drivers.

keep me posted for further assistance,

Regards,
