I recently bought an HP Pavilion DV6-6c38TX and decided to wipe it and upgrade with a fresh install to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Of course this means I need drivers for certain hardware components and am fine with everything except WLAN.
I tried the drivers (Intel and Ralink) from the support page for the laptop and yet it still wont install.
I am fairly certain that the WLAN Adapter is an Intel one but could someone point me in the direction of the right driver!?
As this is a new laptop that was only released recently it is hard to find suitable help elsewhere so any help is greatly appreciated!!

Please click on the network controller in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. In the Properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see.
Those will identify the model of the network adapter, and I will send you the link to the drivers you need.

It worked, thank you so very much!! No, I am not a hockey fan. "Rangers" actually came from an old pickup truck!
I had done a fresh installation of Windows Vista. I still have 2 remaining "other devices" listed in my Device Manager that do not have drivers for. I'm not sure if they are needed for anything.
Unknown device - ACP\HPQ0004
Unknown device - HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_11C1&DEV_1040&SUBSYS_103C137E&REV_1002
Thanks again for your help!
