New Pavilion laptop is very slow on internet, though the connection is good

pavilion 17-g148dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I just bought this new laptop yesterday, but it is running exremely slow on the internet. A simple google search takes forever if it works at all.  I opened up the netowork center and it says my connection speed is 52.0 MBps but nothing seems to want to load or it is hit and miss. Last night I was able to get netflix and youtube to work alright, but searches take forever it it takes a long time for a site to load. The weird thing is my 10 year old refurbished laptop that I was replacing is way faster than my brand new one when I connect them to the same wifi. Is there something I am missing in getting the new laptop set up that can improve it's speed? Hopefully someone can help me figure it out, and thanks in advance!! 🙂

Hi @Daisy44,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Pavilion 17-g148dx Notebook and issues with slow performance. Try performing a hard reset. There might be updates that have not come thought yet.

Here is a link to help with performance issues if the above does not help.

Did you install any form of Virus Protection? This could be causing lag issues.

Please let me know how this goes.
