Solved!

Playing some blu-ray movies... screen turns black. HELP!

HP Recommended

My HP dv7-4197cl notebook is having a problem playing some blu-ray movies... screen turns black.  When some of the blu ray movies (Green Zone.... tried to play 2 different blu-ray discs and "A Prophet"), the disc begins to load up and then the screen just turns black.  The discs are new and do not have scratches.  Some other blu ray discs play fine.  I need help.

I have already uploaded the lates bios for my computer and there is no further updates for the HP Media Smart program.  Has anyone else had similar problems?  What else can I do?

have you tried to update the video driver? sometimes on the windows updates the video driver is listed you can also update from there or go to device manager open the display adapter look for the driver right then update driver. try also different bluray disk after updating the video driver.

I just downloaded the latest version of HP Media Smart DVD player from the HP website and uploaded it on my computer.  Once it deleted my older program and uploaded the newer version it played fine.  It really sucks that HP didn't offer this upgrade on my older version which stated that no new updates were available.  Thanks... I had to do this on my own.
