Probook 430 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Community,

Recently we're decided to buy new laptops HP Probook 430 G4 for our department but our local market has only models with Core i5 CPU and 1Tb HDD installed.

It seems possible to upgrade with M.2 2280 SSD manually as described in Maintenance Guide (Removal and Replacement procedures for Customer Self-repair parts).

There're two P/N for HP M.2 SSD drives also: 128|256Gb TLC

So, is it possible to upgrade the laptop with a SSD not listed in spare parts for this model?

There is a link in the thread for upgrading with SSD on this Forum (pinned) to the Crucial website to check a compatibility.

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/probook-430-g4

It says Crucial MX200 500GB M.2 Type 2280 (Single Sided) Internal SSD compatible for upgrade, but this model is EOL and Legacy and only a newer MX300 M.2 SSD on market.

Are the Crucial MX300 275/525Gb models (Crucial MX300 M.2 CT275MX300SSD4 or CT525MX300SSD4) compatible for upgrade of Probook 430 G4? Or may be you can advice a model of different manufacturer?

Thank you for your reply, I've mentioned about this two spare parts in the post, but are there another compatible devices for this laptop or the laptop locked for use only this two?

I'am an owner of Probook 4340s and it's mini-PCIe slot is locked for use only HP whitelisted WWAN devices, for example.
