Probook 6560b does not recognize different SSD´s at 6GBIT (Sata2) Mode

Can you please fix the issue with an upcoming BIOSUPDATE?

The HDD LED is then constantly lightning and the Notebook does not start.

Mine is a Crucial  C300 128GB

Many ppl have the same problem linked here:

Probook 6560b does not recognize different SSD´s at 6GBIT (Sata2) Mode

Hi guys

I bought Plextor M5S 256gb few days ago. With the latest bios f.40 it was working as SATA2 even when SATA3 in Bios was set. So I have started to looking for some solution and I found one :smileyhappy: In 6560b we have the same bios like for example 8560p and some 8560p owner tried to downgrade f.40 bios version to f.20 (can be found on 8560p page) and it solved his problem with SATA2 !

So I did the same and here is the result:

As we can see, the result is much, much better, but to be honest, still worst then I could seen in reviews. I see that in f.20 bios there is no option to change SATA 2 or SATA 3 like in f.40, it is changed automatic. In f.40 we can chosse, but with my HDD it doesn`t matter whether it was SATA2 or SATA3 set in bios, it was always working as SATA2.

The question is why HP did something like that with the latest bios. If there was some problem with SATA3 that we don`t know about, why they gave us the choice between SATA2 and SATA3 in f.40 ? For now it is working without any problems, but maybe we don`t know everything :smileyhappy:

BTW

I was looking for some solution to make my 6560b silent and I found a great program - " TPFanControl by troubadix", version for 4530s works great with our 6560b. You can try it :smileyhappy:

Anyone can try and configm, at best with a C300 ? THX

Too sad that HP even does not respond on their OWN Supportforum, a shame. Also because a lot of people gave feedback.

I hope they will see the post an fix it.

Really no business-support !!!!!!!!!!!!

And here is AS SSD result:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc142/DziubekR1/Beznbsptytu1420u_zpsc364c575.jpg

Of course looks much better than with SATA2 but still in my opinion 4k is a little bit lover than it should. Or maybe I am wrong, this is my first SSD :smileyhappy: For now laptop works fine on f.20 bios. Crystal and AS SSD shows abovementioned results but HD Tune has 300mb/s so the question in which one was right.

Intel RST shows SATA 6gb/s running (on f.40 bios it shows 3gb/s even when 6gb/s was set in Bios). And i agree that HP is not fair with us, if there is some problem that they don`t want to allow SATA3 in the latest bios, they should tell us about it...

I am curious how i would be if I tried f.40 bios again :smileyhappy: But not today, or maybe someone else can try :smileyhappy:

EDIT:

Something weird happens with HD Tune Pro. It shows maximum Read transfer as 300mb/s. And 300mb/s is theoretically a maximum transfer of SATA2 3Gb/s. But with f.40 bios and SATA2 its tranfer was just 190mb/s and AS SSD and Crystal was about 250mb/s. Now Crystal and AS SSD show almost 500mb/s and HD Tune Pro just 300mb/s. I don`t know what is going on.

F.50 BIOS update is installed on my 6560b. but my brand new Kingston HyperX SATA3 SSD drive does not function (not seen at boot) when SATA3 (6GBps) is selected in BIOS.

I have to degrade it to SATA2 (3Gbps) for the drive to boot correctly, but poor performances are seen.

After 3 years of problem debats seen on forums, may HP be kind enough to provide a fix?
