Product information not valid

HP Recommended
Pavilion g series
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Replacing a crashed hard drive is the easy part...it is afterwards that I cannot seem to find and that is when turning on the laptop getting "Product information not valid - the following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid" and can NOT get past this point. HP website does not seem to have any information pertaining to this...links to the fix would be extremely helpful!

A "Product Information not valid" error message occurs when the system board is replaced without including the correct serial number for the hardware.
