RAM Upgrade - HP DV7 6C-80US

Product Name: HP DV7 6C-80US
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have been using dv7-6C80US from last 3 yrs. I stay in India. Currently I am using laptop with 12 GB RAM ( 8 + 4 GB's) in both the DIMM's.

I would like to upgrade the RAM to 16GB. I knew the Max memory supported is 16GB.

I have 8GB RAM (1.5V) in one of the DIMM's. Can If I use 1.35 V in combination with 1.5V

If Yes in this regard I was checking the Online stores, I see the DDR3 8GB RAM with 1.35V / low voltage. below are few models I was planning to buy. Please help me out and any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Else Please suggest RAM Brand and Model with Voltage that would be compatible with my lappy.

Awaiting for replies.

Cheers

Re: RAM Upgrade - HP DV7 6C-80US

This is the specified memory module:

8-GB memory module for use only with computer models equipped with an Intel processor (DDR3, 10600, 1333-MHz) 634091-001

http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-Notebooks-KTH-X3B-8G/dp/B007BPOHLK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=...

1.35 volt modules will also run at 1.5 volts. However, the voltage is only part of the equation. You also need to match density and latency. You also want to match the 2 modules as closely as possible so you have dual channel operation. Can you provide the specs of the 8 gig module you have?

The Transcend looks to be compatible.
