RAM Upgrade is possible or not.

Example: Pavilion dv5-1104tu
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi Guys ,

I have got a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC DV5-1104tu laptop with a 3GB RAM and would like to know if I can  upgrade it to 6GB or 8GB RAM. Please help me out to figure out if that is achievable or not as I could not find any documentation regarding my laptop series at all.

Hi,

Your machine runs Windows 7 (32bit). No point to upgrade to anything over 4GB, wasting money, because 32bit OS normally won't address anything over 4GB.

Regards.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Now is it worth upgrading from 3GB tp 4GB RAM or just sell it and buy a new one. And any idea of the resale price of this configuration laptop ?

Hi,

I would not upgrade anything if planning to sell it. I don't know the market in your country but I bought many secondhand laptops for my "test lab" at home from the following source:

         http://www.budgetpc.com.au/refurbished-products-493/refurbished-notebooks?SID=vuf3ssc8svituna4aqfr6b...

The best you can get is around 70% to 75% of their prices.

Regards.
