I've noticed that the latest Realtek update from HP has significantly improved this issue.  However, the volume cycling is still noticable.  Let us know if your research turns anything up!  Dying for a permanent fix.  This is my first and probably last HP as a result too.

download and install the reltek driver 6.0.1.7135 from hp. It fixed all the problems with normalisation/compression etc and doesnt include beats audio

Got a direct link to that driver MrPeterKyo?

 Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver

Its inteneded for a desktop i think but the hardwere is the same so it works fine.

Gonna give it a try. Thanks for the link!

So notbook Driver 6.0.1.7358 is the latest that came down in the HP Updates and definitely still has the same problem.  I'll try the desktop driver mentioned above.

Neither worked for me. Still have to deal with the beats audio front panel.

Dissable beats/realtek HD audio at start up then reboot and you should be back to the default reltek unprocessed audio, which is pertty level and doesnt have any artifacts, unlike beats.

Also:

Dear HP,

Get your act together and make an alternative driver with simple DSP features that are transparent and that people actually want like a 16-band EQ, crossover (with units of dB) and the ability to actually bypass the DSP entirely. From reading arround some costomers have been waiting for a patch to fix the numerous issues with the beats driver for over a year which is entirely unexceptable.

Regards,

Everyone.

I found a great workaround for HP Pavilion 15 laptops that have Realtek Audio Driver Installed.

In order to disable Beats Audio completely install an older audio driver R2.71 or lower seems to work fine.

Hope this helps

This fix is very interesting.  To help me understand the process that led to this fix,  I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions.

To first uninstall beats audio, did you use the method outlined earlier in this series  or another method?

You must have a Realtek mother board. After removing the beats audio drivers, and to be compatable with the Realtek mother board , how did you arrive at choosing the Realtek driver 6.0.1.7135 as your choice of driver which resolved all the problems associated with beats audio?  I am asking this question because there are a large number of 6.0.1.xxxx Realtek drivers available.  There is also the Realtek R2.71 audio driver which also corresponds to 6.0.1yyyy drivers.

Does the Realtek driver 6.0.1.7135 contain stereo mix?

It is interesting that you installed and downloaded Realtek driver 6.0.1.7135 from HP rather than directly from a Realtek  website.  If you don't mind me asking, did you get some help and advice from HP and / or those who work on behalf of HP?
