I have the same problem and I'm extremely disappointed in HP's lack of support. I've tried and tried to convince them to take responsibility for this issue but they won't.

 

I'm guessing you saw the thread "HP - Spectre x360 power problem" - I'm actually wondering if some of us who were told we need to replace our motherboard actually have a defect part that you mentioned. If only they would help us figure it out without charging $500....

@nire01  Agree. Very disappointed in quality of laptop and HP support on this issue. It looks like the new Spectre laptop has a different power port, so this may resolve the issue. But I will not be buying another HP laptop and will tell my friends not to also.

These guys fixed my power charging port on my HP Spectre x360. My computer was out of warranty and HP wanted $600+ just to look at it.

 

These guys fixed for $100 including the new power port.  Turnaround was very quick. Highly recommend
