Recover media not working

HP Recommended
Hp laptop
Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)

Hello received recover media disk getting error This computer is not supported by the system recovery media. You will not be able to continue to recover the system with this media. Error 

0100-3627-3627-3673-3674-3675-3676-3577-3578-3579-0120-0001-0002

The computer 100 percent works as if I remove the media I can boot to windows with no issue. I just would like to redo the computer. This is my first time using the thumb drive and I just received it from hp

As I understand you are trying to perform a system recovery using the recovery media shipped from HP and you are getting an error message. I'll try my best to help you with this.

 

 There may be a chance that you did not get a correct copy for your model and product number.  Here is a link to help you obtain the correct version from HP phone support.

 

HP PCs - Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive

 

What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process: 

Step 1. Open link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect 
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options" 
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number 
Case number and phone number appear.

Thank you. I tried that however the laptop is out of warranty and said my only option is this forum

Thanks for your response. I understand that the laptop is Out of warranty, however, you could check if the recovery media is available online on www.hp.com/drivers by entering the exact model no. of your laptop. To find the exact model no. click here: http://hp.care/2bygf7l

 

If the recovery media is not available online, then you could call our HP phone support to order one.

Nothing comes up with a case and a phone number I get this
