Recovery issue

Hp 15-g019wm
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
My laptop kept popping up hard drive error so I sent for a recovery usb it came in and as I follow the directions on the screen once I click enter for usb boot, it goes to a blank screen

The problem is it's not even going to the screens. As soon as I click usb boot it will show hp sign and go to a blank screen

Most likely, it's trying to boot from the USB stick, and that could take several MINUTES to complete, during which, you will see nothing on the screen.

This is too long without any action.  Here is a guide to help you test your hard drive to see if it is failing.  Scroll down to towards the middle of the page.  There is a video to help you test the drive without it being able to boot into Windows.
