Remove EliteBook BIOS password
05-23-2011 05:51 PM

Just bought an EliteBook 8530w on eBay, but it has a BIOS password which the seller doesn't remember. Tried a few password removal tools with no luck. Does anyone know an effective method or utility to remove it with?

Remove the CMOS battery, the laptop battery and unplug the adapter. Let it sit for 30 minutes, install both batteries and adapter. On boot you will be prompted to enter BIOS defaults, use your up and down and enter keys to do so and that should do it..
Give the page time too load and then navigate to "Real Time Clock Battery" in the left column.

Make sure that you are statically discharged before opening up the cover.
