I recently bought a dv7-4263cl laptop used. Most times I don't buy used, but at $200, I couldn't pass it up. The guy told me that his kids had crashed it, and deleted the recovery partition by mistake, trying to fix it, before they told him. But -- he said that he had all 6 of the recovery cd's, so I bought it. Tried to run the disk, but when it gets to the end, it says that the file HP_P2PP_LOG is missing. I can't make another set of disk, so what do I do, besides pay HP for a set. I have the file, (zip) but when I try to run it, it ask for a password. So -- I'm stuck. How do I get this file to my computer ?? Anyone have a clue about the needed password. I'm using it but can't use any of the HP programs. I did a custom install using my legit oem windows 7 disk, and downloaded some drivers, but can't get it to install my webcam program, media card reader program, etc. Can anyone help me ???

Did you have any luck with Erico's solution ?
Try this to start with, I'll start with one thing to see if we are going in the right direction.
Save this to the desk top, do not click to install it to a temporary folder.
or Win Rar
and install either one.
Right click on the file you saved earlier to the desk top for your webcam and choose to extract files _ this will produce a new file on the desk top.
Open that and look for "src" with out the quotes.
Open that file and scroll to the bottom _ find the setup file, the 10th one from the bottom.
Click on that and it should install now.
The same process can be used for other drivers and software.
Lat me know how it goes.
