Sound issues after installing Windows 10 Anniversary Edition

HP Notebook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I downloaded Windows 10 Anniversary Edition on my HP Notebook 15 a couple days ago.  This version came as an update, and it was not clear to me until it was complete. This laptop is new for me, purchased in June this year.  Since the update, the sound quality has been poor; very scratchy and white noise in background.

Not sure what to do to fix this.  Anyone else?

Sound issues after installing Windows 10 Anniversary Edition

Hi,

What is your HP 15 machine ?  Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

You may want to try:

(a) Go to Device Manager > Sound ....,

(b) Expand Sound driver, right click and Uninstall,

(c) Reboot the machine and wait for 5 or 10 mins

(d) Check Sound now.

Regards.

Sound issues after installing Windows 10 Anniversary Edition

Hi banhien,

I have a HP 250 G4 Notebook PC, Product number: T6P47EA#ABU which also now has very poor sound quality since installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update.

Following your suggestion to try, in Device Manager when I click on Sound, video and game controllers, two audio entries are displayed:-

Intel(R) Display Audio, and
Realtek High Definition Audio

Which one should I uninstall to solve the problem?
