Just purchased the shiney new Spectre 360 top spec laptop and its running VERY HOT all the time.

Has anyone faced this issue?  and if so can it be solved?

Not what I expected for a high end expensive laptop.

I have been using for about a month a Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ac0XX as my loaner this year.My results are very different from yours-stays quite cool even with hours of use. Of course,I use it mainly for email, Facebook ,news sites, answering questions here on the forum. Are there particular programs that seem to cause your x360 to heat up?

I did adjust some settings I had seen recommended for longer battery life and running cooler. Such as  Settings \System- Turned off notifications. In Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options> click Change plan settings> click Change advanced power settings> Processor power management- set Max processor state at 95% on battery and power.

thanks for your reply I will test what you suggested. I am running NO programs. Only browsing internet and some word documents. Could there me a hardware issue here?

If the tweaks I suggested do not produce results there may be something going on with hardware. I use mine for many hours  a day and have never noticed it getting more than slightly warm on the bottom back edge.

@erico any heat issues with your loaner Spectre?

How much GB ram is yours using?  I cannot see the specific settings after following your instructions.

Can someone from HP access my system and configure this so we can test and see if this is the case?

HP Recommended

Mine has 8gb of ram. Which setting are you having problem finding? To access Settings click the last icon on the far right of system tray beside the time/date. A window will pop up-click All settings. In the next window click System icon. There you will find Notifications.

I found setting fine.  Just this part  click Change advanced power settings> Processor power management- set Max processor state at 95% on battery and power.

I am using the 16GB Ram  have you heard of issues with this model then?  I need this solved asap

@CherylG

When I use the product loan Spectre x360 to connect to my HDTV  to stream Amazon and Netflix movies, the air coming from the exhaust ports  is hot.

I put it in tablet mode after selecting what I want to watch and the keyboard area does get pretty toasty.

I definitely wouldn't put it in my lap.

You can also go right to power settings from there under Power and sleep.Look to very bottom and click additional power settings. In power options window click Change power settings, then Change advanced power settings. Look for Processor.
