Hello, @Lovely1uknow – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

I understand that you did an update and now, your HP notebook is asking for a password. To assist you with this issue, I’d like to know the following details:

  1. Is there a code associated with this startup password? Like, is it giving a 6 or 8 digit code before it is asking for your start up password?
  2. Have you created a BIOS password / Administrator password for your system? If so, try entering the same and check.
  3. Also, if you select the operating system, will it boot properly?

Thanks, I will watch for your reply!

Good luck 🙂
