Synaptics pointing device

Recently my touch pad for my mouse will not do the virtual scroll (left, right, up, or down). Everytime i start my HP Pavilion dv8000 I have to go to mouse settings to get it to work, and it will not work the first time i change the settings to what i want, so i have to pick a different scheme and then press cancel to get it to work right and for the icon to come up on the start bar.

Re: Synaptics pointing device

You might want to try a system restore to a point where the touchpad was working correctly.

If this does correct the problem, try to update the driver to your touchpad.  Once it is installed, go back to the settings and set your preferences.  See if this makes a difference.  Let us know how it goes.

Good luck!
