my laptop ( HP nevy-dv6 7300ex ) touchpad not working ..

 

after install new version of win 8 the touchpad dead ..

 

what i have do ?

Start your notebook and immediately tap the Esc key to invoke the startup menu.

 

In the startup menu choose F2 for HP PC Diagnostics.

 

Choose component tests and then choose touchpad to run the test. post your results here in your thread. If it is a hardware failure then the test will advise you of that.

Please ignore the circles System Board selected. It was from another troubleshooting session earlier this year. you should choose mouse for your issue.

the first thing you must do is identify the operating system completely.

 

Do you mean that you have installed the update that changes Windows 8 to  Windows 8.1(64-bit)?

 

If that is the case, then the drivers for Windows 8.1(64-bit) are here.

 

Install the Synaptics touchpad driver.

second .. i already install this package Synaptics TouchPad Driver Version16.5.3.3 ..

 

my operation system is Windows 8.1 ( x64 ) ..

 

should I install certain package to run this package ??

Have you tried double tapping the upper left hand corner of the touchpad?

i do what u said but i don't found ( component tests ) in menu because i have older version of UEFI .. i have 4.3.3

 

what should i choose from this :

Install a newer version of the UEFI environment and then run the component test.
