Unable to complete factory reset because I am missing disk 5

HP pavillion g6 laptop
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

I started to reinstall my laptop to factory default settings. I realised I had lost recovery disk 5 when asked to insert. I only have 4/5 disks. I can't complete the recovery and my computer wont boot.

What must I do?

Yuki

I'm afraid you'll either have to replace the lost disk or order a new set.

All you can do regarding the HP recovery disk set is contact HP Customer Support and see what they will do for you.

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

However, HP Customer Support is generally not available on the weekends, so you might have to wait until Monday to contact them.

In addition, HP no longer stocks a lot of the Win7 recovery media, so if they don't have it, here are a couple of other sites you can check:   http://www.computersurgeons.com/  and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Good Luck
