Update ENVY DV7-7230US laptop to Win 8.1

Everytime I attempt to download the Win 8.1 update from the Microsoft Store, it will fail. Is there an HP site where I can download the Win 8.1 update or a DVD that I can obtain that contains the Win 8.1 update?

No , there's not any. You have to go through MS Windows Store itself.
I think Microsoft is planning to make it as a Important recommended Windows Update which you can download through control panel next month or so, due to many reporting failed update via Store.
As Windows 9 is coming ahead, MS is planning an all out distribution of 8.1 and probably 8.2 to all Win 8 users.

Hope it'll be available for you through control panel Windows update soon.

I found the Win 8.1 update where you download seven updates and one exe,  but when I attempt ot run them, I get an error that says they are not for my computer. These are:

KB2919442   - gives error - Microsoft sites says this has to be installed first

ClearCompressionFlag.exe

KB2919355

KB2932046

KB2959977

KB2937592

KB2938439

KB2934018

These are suppose to be for the X64 OS which is what is in my HP laptop.

KB2919355 KB2932046 KB2959977 KB2937592 KB2938439 KB2934018 are not required to install if you download windows 8.1 after the month 2014 may from store .. Because it is an update 1 for windows 8.1 .. So its not required to install ..
Just download 8.1 from store, all the above updates are included in it .. There is no alternative other than store download ..
