Use laptop on battery life only??

n/a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, Is it best that when a laptop is in use, it should not be plugged in. Basically, run on battery only, then only have it plugged in to charge the battery. If it's plugged in and in use will it wear out the batter quicker.

Use laptop on battery life only??

Hi:

Please see this guide for getting the most life out of your notebook's battery.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00596784

I leave mine unplugged most of the time, and run it until I get the low battery warning.

Then I charge the battery all the way up, unplug the notebook and run it down again and so on.

You will see that the guide does not recommend leaving the notebook connected to the charger for more than two weeks at a time.
