Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hello I was wondering what is the maximum size hard drive that Windows 8 64bit will support? Looking at a Samsung 5TB SSHD.

Thanks in Advance, Alice

There is no capacity limit but there is a size (outside dimensions) limit. It cannot be more than 2.5 inches wide and 9.5 mm thick. Not sure there is yet a 5 TB SSHD with those dimensions. You also have to be sure to partition it as GPT not MBR, but I am sure you know that.

I'm about 95% sure this Seagate 5TB Barracuda Sata 6GB/s 128MB Cache 2.5-Inch will work unless I'm mis reading it's thickness

I am 100% sure the 2tb is only 7mm thick

To be honest I wish I could afford the roughly $600.00 Crucial MX300 2TB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD.
