Which System BIOS Upgrade specific to my model/specs do I install?

HP ENVY 15-k086ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

#######

Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Intel Core i7-4510U @2.00Ghz

BIOS: Insyde F.34

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 850M

#######

I have to update BIOS because of win10 driver/bios compatibility.

I'm mighty confused right now because...

There are two BIOS updates offered on the HP support driver site!

http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-k000-notebook-pc/6936206/model/7146286#Z7...

(See Windows 8.1 section-> BIOS.)

F.42 Rev A appears to be the higher number, but for F.07 HP says "NOTE: HP strongly recommends transitioning promptly to this updatedBIOS version."

Concerning F.42 Rev A: Please, what kind of fix and enhancement detail is "Provides the initial BIOS release." ? What does that even mean? xD

Which one is the correct BIOS for me?

Thanks 🙂

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the simple answer is -- neither!

Why?

Because HP configures their BIOS updates to be OS-version specific, and the ones you're looking at are for Win8x, not for Win10.

Most likely, either one will fail to run because the upgrade tool checks the OS version and will prevent you from running it.
