Wifi adapter disabled

HP Recommended
Probook 650 G1
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi there,

on my Probook 650 G1, my Broadcom wifi adapter has been disabled.

On the HP Connection Manager, it says: 'disabled by Device Manager'.

I tried to update the driver and even restore to a previous verson, but still have the problem.

The wifi button on the keyboard is ON.

Can someone help?

Thanks.

Hi Boum,

If you go on an administrator account and type in the search bar/cortana and type in device managers, open the program, then go down to network adapters and finally enable the driver

I hope this helps!

Hi Sarasona,

thanks for the response.

I already tried it but it didn't work, it forced always the adapter in disable mode...

Hi Boum,

Just a shot in the dark, are you able to enable it when on the adapter settings?

To get there is Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings then right click on the wifi and enable

Please reply and tell me if it works, thanks!

Hi Boum,

Once last chance before i leave it with someone with more expertise, above your keyboard there is an antenna switch. Try pressing that and the wifi should come back on

If not I apologise and i'll look into it further!

Regards,

Hi Sarasona,

the wifi switch on the keyboard was already ON, so it changes nothing...

I think it is forced to Disable by the system (conflict somewhere..?)...

Thanks.
