Will the ZBook 17 G2 fit this dock?

ZBook 17 G2

My company is looking to replace its aging fleet of HPs. We have narrowed the field to a Dell model or the HP SB ZBook 17 G2. The decision will likely depend on if the ZBook will fit our existing 230w Docks (P/N VB043UT).

The dock looks almost identical to the two HP 230w Docking Stations listed as accessories: A7E34UT and A7E34AA...not sure what the difference is. The pages are exactly identical except the price. Perhaps an exercise in suckering people? More expensive is always better even when the things are identical.

Hi,

No, they are not the same and can't be identical. Please read their specs carefully thet why the newer one is more expensive.

Newer one:

      http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx%2Fc04164466.pdf

older one:

    https://h10057.www1.hp.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/99/VB043UT.htm

You may be able to use the older one but not recommended, it may fit physically but you can't get all connectivities.

Regards.

I did read both product pages closely. I also clicked on the two links to view the Data Sheets/Documents (both result in "Sorry, there are no documents available for this product ")  and Technical Support/Manuals (and again, both go to support pages with no useable info...no manuals, no download options, no top issues.)

And if you can find a difference between these two product pages, you are far better at reading than I am because the only difference I see on those two pages are the model numbers (A7E34UT vs A7E34AA) and the price (prices cannot be posted so you'll have to go see for yourself that one is more expensive than the other). So maybe they can't be identical, but they sure look that way to me...
