I am repairing a friends Pavilion dv6 laptop were the Toshiba hard drive had completely failed - even the Recovery partition was unreadable.
I have installed a new WD Black hard drive and loaded Windows 7 Home Premium using my own OEM disc and the Product Key provided with the laptop. Activation was successful.
My problem is that generic Drivers have been loaded for all the major hardware such as display, sound system, graphics etc and I want to "upgrade" to the specific manufacturer's drivers.
I have looked up Pavilion dv6-3139tx on the HP drivers download but as I am unsure of exactly the hardware I have installed it is difficult to know which driver may be suitable and in the instance of the graphics where I downloaded the specified Intel HD Graphics driver I got an error message when loading saying that "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". If I run the Intel Driver Update Utility it reports that "No drivers were detected for your product"
My question is how can I identify the precise hardware present in this laptop so that I can then find and install the correct driver?
The Product number of this laptop is XV832PA#ABG and the Serial number is CNF0398HQL
Any help on finding the correct drivers would be appreciated

These are your drivers.
What you need to do is find the hardware ID's do a Google search with the ID then install the appropriate driver.

Driver pages normally show many drivers for many options for machines including available parts.
One way to find right drivers for one machine is to look at its parts list but in many cases the list is not available therefore second way is to look at their hardware id's for missing drivers. Please use following instructions to get missing hardware id's:
and for this machine, its parts list:

The specs as listed are pretty darn vague.
I looked up the parts list by the product number and there is a bit more info in there...
