Windows installation error

Product Name: Pavillion p258na
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My friend has someone managed to wipe their entire hard drive and has also conveniently not created any recovery disks.  The partitions for reocvery etc have all been wiped due to failed attempts to fix this notebook.

They have given it to me like this to try and reinstall Windows.  I have tried to reinstall Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 via genuine disks, however I get the following error:

"Windows cannot install required files.  The file may be corrupt or missing.  Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart installation.

Error code:  0x80070570".

This error occurs not long after the Windows installation has started and always when it is "Expanding files".

I've trawled this forum for similar situations and I've come across various answers suggesting SATA drivers are required and I've follwed the links to the suggested drivers, however these all seem to be intel chipsets, where as this notebook has an AMD chipset, therefore none of the drivers are recognised.  I've had a look for the AMD drivers but been unable to find them so far.

Any advice on this issue would be very much appreciated.

Re: Windows installation error

Hello @Allan1875,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!

I read your post about the installation failure, and wanted to assist you!

The next time you run the install, and get the 0x80070570 error code, try clicking Cancel.  You should return to the Install Now startup screen.  Then without rebooting, try installing again: Windows 7: 0x80070570 Error Code on install - One Easy Solution

Let me know how it goes.

Re: Windows installation error

Thanks for that reply.

Unfortunately this did not work. I tried twice and got two different errors.

First time it came up that the PC has encountered an error (standard windows 8 splash screen) and the error for future was "Memory_management". This error occurred as the installation was starting.

Second time when I clicked installed now I got a windows error with a pop up. "Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible and restart the installation. "

Error code: 0xC0000005

Possibly faulty memory?
