Contact HP and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

 http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/contact_us.html

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

Or download these files.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zu4kdgxm052l87d/AAAMi-kfX4AVH8oTCbsOM4X9a?dl=0

Insert clean USB flash drive.

Then run USB Image tool.

Choose the flash drive then click on RESTORE.

After restore remove flash drive.

Insert flash drive into locked laptop and boot. ”If HDD is installed remove before booting.”

At C:\OUTPUT   type CD.. “Then hit enter”

Type HPBR   “Then hit enter”

First thing is to save your settings.

Select #3 re-program.

Press “S” to save system information.

Type HPBR and hit enter.

Since your model is not listed select “SHOTGUN.”

After reboot repeat “SHOTGUN” a second time.

Let me know the result so I can update my list.

Some instructions here. “If you cannot boot from USB there are instructions to make a bootable HDD.”

I tried to boot from usb flashdrive without HDD - system ask to install operating system.

Then I tried to make one of my HDD bootable and copied all files you send me then I put it inside PC and tried to boot and I receive same message: install operating ssystem.

I can't change any options in Bios because I don't have administrator password. I can choose between 2 boot options, boot from hdd or boot from ethernet. I don't know what to do 😞

You have to make the drive using the USB Image Tool program.

The drive will not boot if you just copy the files.

When creating the HDD click on options then click on Show non-removable devices.

After creating the HDD put it in the locked laptop and boot from it.
