bios update

Hi @SANFUI ,

Good Day! Thanks for reaching out! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. It will be a delight to assist you.:) I understand that you need assistance to update the bios and have other problems with the computer.

You’ve done great, diagnosing the issue from your end and kudos to you for that.  You are a valued HP customer and it is a genuine pleasure to assist you here.

To help you better I would require more information.

  • What is the exact issue with the unit ?
  • You stated that it is new. Has it worked correctly before?
  • Why do you need to perform a bios update?
  • Are you looking for warranty information of your computer?
  • Has it worked correctly in the recent past?

For now please do a hard reset. Steps:

  • Power down the computer and unplug the charger. Then remove the battery only if it is a removable one.
  • Hold down the power button of the unit for 15 seconds to discharge static electrical charges inside the machine.
  • Replace the battery and reconnect the charger.

Then please run complete system diagnostics on your computer from this link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03467259

Please  make a note of any failure code that might show up for failed components.

Once we establish that the hardware is working correctly, you could do a system restore by visiting this link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03327545   Please perform a restore to an earlier time before the issue started. Follow the option “Restore your computer when Windows cannot start normally”

You could update the bios by visiting this link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/8543365/model/8876778

If you need to check the warranty of your machine please visit this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Trust me I have done all I can to help by keeping your best interest in mind. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.
