Pavillion DV6

My son has an old (2010) DV& which he simply cannot remember the password of. We cannot log on, obviously.

How can we get around this to open and reset? Please help!

I'm really not sure. It's my son's laptop so, I haven't really used it.

I bought for him in 2010-11, so whatever would be commonly in use at that time is factory installed.

XP? Vista? 2007?

Perhaps instrux for those OS's would be best, if possible.

I do understand this would be exactly what someone who steals a PC would want to knbow, buyt who would steal a 6 year old laptop??

Your help would be appreciated.
