Re: can't put key back into keyboard?

It would certainly help if you supplied an HP Model number.

Re: can't put key back into keyboard?

Here is a link to a blurb with fotos on how to replace the key. It is not specific to your laptop, but all HP laptop keyboards are pretty much the same. It only requires patience on your part.

Re: can't put key back into keyboard?

If the particular key is either broken or lost, then replacing the keyboard is the only option.

You can purchase one either through HP or an online vendor.

Re: can't put key back into keyboard?

My f5 key on my HP Laptop hs fallen off.

Model-

HP Pavilion 15.6" AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320 Laptop (G62-224CA)

I have followed all of your steps that you have gave to the original questioner. BUT-

1. There is no metal hook. Actually, there is, but there is no way for me to connect it in as you said.

Please help! I need my laptop VERY soon for a trip, and for a important meeting. I would be touched if you could help me resolve my problem! Thank you!

Re: can't put key back into keyboard?

Removing the Caps Lock key is a great way to DISable the annoying caps loc feature. I have large hands and I was constantly hitting the CAPS LOC feature and having to retype stuff again especially entering case sensitive passwords.Smiley Very Happy

Re: can't put key back into keyboard?

I have a tx2 1000 and the left arrow key popped off during cleaning (boy these are delecate!) It has a different type retaining system than depicted in the photos. It uses a two peice retaining clips that I can't figure out how to pop back in to get the key cap to snap into. Any other resources for how this silly thing goes back together?
