@trip333

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY All-in-One - 27-p014 and there are two mouse pointers on the screen. One pointer will open right click options and the other pointer is erratic. The screen will also zoom in and zoom out and open other applications. I'd like to assist you with this case.

I would like to know if any changes (hardware or software) took place on the PC after which this issue may have started. Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Please try to use an alternate USB mouse (if available) and test the performance.
  • If you do not have an alternate mouse or if the issue persists with an alternate mouse then Please continue with the below steps.
  • If your PC allows you to work on Windows, then you may perform a Microsoft System Restore to rollback the PC to a previous date when everything worked fine.
  • In case the mouse doesn't let you work in Windows then we can perform a system refresh (repair). This will fix any software issues in Windows.
  • NOTE: Though the system refresh steps provided are for Win8, they will work for Win10 also.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

I did what you said and the problem got worse.  I did the refresh.  My recovery options I tried but they were not far back and didn't solve my problem.  I have a external hard drive with older recovery points but I don't know how to access the drive when I'm in the restore program.  Any other ideas?
