both Dart and Zolt are in the process of making prototypes for usb-c . they expect a full release by the end of 2016. Unfortunatley based on the above even these beautiful new products wont work. If Hp updated the bios furhermore would it then be able to accept 3rd party chargers or is there something different on the hardware end that is installed?

Hi Ralph,

We do not yet have a prototype USB-C solution, but will notify you as soon as it is available.

Thank you for the helpful information about USB-C chargers for HP laptops. I have passed this information on to our engineering group, and we will definitely take this into account as develop the USB-C solution for Dart.

Really appreciate your support and interest!

Best,
FINsix Support

Ralph- it's not a hardware issue at all.  HP has just chosen to block power delivery from any charger / device but their own while the systems are running.  It's the reason I'm about to buy an Asus Transformer 3 Pro rather than the Spectre x360.  USB-C is a standard, so there's no reason that the products you listed shouldn't work with any system supporting that standard.  Unfortunately, HP has chosen to cripple their devices by putting what amounts to DRM on the USB-C ports.
