dv6000 lacks proper screen resolution
10-10-2009 10:21 AM - edited 10-10-2009 10:23 AM
Did you ever find a resolution to this? I have installed the latest drivers, both via the HP websie and via Windows Vista update, and I cannot get the resolution to widescreen or above 1048x768.
Forgot to say, It's a dv6552ea

CONFIRMED: Driver update suggested by CherylG is the solution to this problem.
How I developed the problem:
1. Completely wiped HP dv6000 laptop and installed Windows 7 fresh. Left the HP RECOVERY partition for reinstall to Windows Vista Home Premium if problem arises.
2. Resolution max 1024x768 resulted.
3. Reinstalled WINDOWS VISTA (32-bit) version NVIDEA graphics driver found here:

4. Screen resolution maximum of 1280x800 (max pixels) now supported.
