I Have HP Pavilion DV6 3130TX laptop. I have bios version f.12 installed.

 

Pls tell me how to update and IS updated BIOS will compatible with Existing windows 7. I want to install ubuntu, can this updated bios will support.

Hi,

 

The latest bios is available here.  You can run the bios update while running Windows 7. 

 

  1. Be sure that you back up your data and that you have a set of the HP Recovery Disks.
  2. Be sure that you are the system administrator and are signed in with admin. privileges.
  3. Download the update to your desktop.
  4. Be sure that the battery is fully charged and the PC is plugged into the electrical outlet.
  5. Disconnect the laptop from the internet.
  6. Stop all applications including any background tasks such as virus scans and hard drive compression before you execute the bios update.
  7. Execute the update.

My laptop is HP Pavillion DV6-6c65sx and I want to update and to see the advanced menu?

hey guys

 

I am trying to update my bios on my dv6-3143us laptop so i can use ubuntu

 

i already cleaned windows off the machine and have ubuntu

 

i am finding issues related to my switchable graphics card - i need an up-to-date bios however the install to update the bios is only supported with windows

 

any idea how i would burn this image from a windows machine onto a cd and load in ubuntu appropriately?
