hp stream notebook switches on but black screen

Hi @nicola68 ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome.

I have read about your HP Stream Notebook and getting a blank or black screen on startup. Try performing a hard reset.

When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows 8.

You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.

If that does not help at the end of the document it shows you to do a hardware test.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

the link posted only goes to the main HP support page and after 2-3 search attempts I still can't find hard reset.
