i accidentally converted to dynamic disk now my notebook wont open.

HP pavilion sleekbook 14
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

i was trying to recover data from my external disk then something pop out about converting to dynamic disk i didn't know what that means i thought it was part of the recovery so i clicked 'yes' now my notebook won't open. It's just stuck on the HP logo with the small dots rotating. i need help please 😞

Sorry for your problems, but this is not a problem you can fix using your current PC.

 

To convert the partitions back to Basic Volumes, you will need to do the following:

1) Find a working Windows PC

2) Download and install a partition tool on that PC

3) Remove your drive from this PC

4) Connect the drive to the other PC using a USB-to-HDD adapter cable

5) Run the conversion tool on the other PC against the connected drive -- and hope for the best!

 

Here's a tool that claims it can convert Dynamic to Basic without data loss:  Free Partition Manager Software - AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard
