HP 470 G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello all,

Just  a quick question i have recently purchased a 470 G3 however this one has not come with a dvd drive installed as standard - does any one know if i can add one or will i have to use an external one going forward?

There is a blanking plate however i dont think that it actually comes off and if it does are the connectors actually going to be ther to connect a dvd rom?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Harv10,

Welcome to FORUM !!

I did research on your issue and found that the DVD Drive is Sold separately as an optional feature for HP ProBook 470 G3.

The slot that you see is Fake or a dummy slot.

If DVD drive had not come by the manufacturer, The only way to use is by external USB DVD drives.
