laptop shows no video

Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Laptop powers up but no video. Caps light blinks. Have hooked to external monitor with no luck. Have tried switching the ram and no help there either. Reset the cmos battery no help there either. Cooling fan powers up along with wifi button. I'm leaning towards the mobo being bad. Can you confirm?
