Re: load key failed with error 999 (sthive

Well I got the laptop to run but it has beyond horrible performance issues. i want to do a windows vista to windows 7 upgrade. Can I upgrade with the current performance issues or should I do the full system recovery before the upgrade?

I tried the system restore to an earlier date then the last good start configuration.

Thanks

Hi

You can do a upgrade to windows 7 but i would suggest you to do a clean install.. if you do an upgrade you don't want the same issue to be carried over to windows 7(Clean install may wipe all your data)

For your reference

Hope this helps.
