question: can i buy 2x8gb ram, for a total of 16gb ram? or is 8gb the maximum? also, the intel page states a maximum of 8gb.

Hi,

I have the same CPU and think that 8GB is maximum you can have.

This page says maximum 8GB. I have got 2x4GB of Corsair PC3-10600(1333MHz) and works well for me. Of course I haven't tried 2x8GB modules as I think that it won't even boot up due to BIOS settings.
