I have DOWNGRADED the BIOS to F.14 and the RAM speed is 1600 MHz at 1.5V. CAS Latency is 11-11-11-30-41 @ 838MHz single channel in CPU-Z.
It has been nearly two years (beginning of 2012) the thread has been started and no solution yet.
AMD APU's performance is dependent on RAM speed.
Along with the purchase of this machine, I got a pre-launch offer for Windows 8. Currently the OS is Windows 8.1 Pro. Some of the OEM software are not compatible with Windows 8.1. I have thoroughly searched and maintaining the drivers up to date includeing beta versions and WHQL drivers. But no issues, but for the painstacking search and maintenance.
The trial version of Windows 8 was a premature baby. HP OEM drivers, particularly Graphic driver, HP support assistant, WiFi button, Bluetooth and many more had issues. I reinstalled many and made it 'Windows 7 compatible' mode. Avast was not working and they blamed Microsoft for the problem, which was true and after installing Windows 8.1 Pro it got sorted out. Tata Photon internet dongle modem was another headache. I ran from dealer to dealer and demonstrated incompatibility by installing and de-installing the dialer. They were suggesting 'upgrades' and payments, without knowing what the issue is.
In fact, I spent a lot of time searching various places for updates as autodetect was a problem. Even now I tried searching for support at www.hp.com it gives "We were (sic!) unable to locate the Drivers & Software downloads page for 'hp pavilion g6-2005ax'". Just I noticed at the bottom that the search was on the US server. I think that is why I could not get proper drivers for a long time. The Americans have given up on this model. Perhaps it is being sold only in India and so I do not hope to get a solution to "Memory Speed Reduced" problem.
As for Screen disturbance, could be because of grphic driver. AMD catalyst was unstable in Windows 8 and SP61231, perhaps. I was mostly running on Microsoft's native drivers. By the way, I have given up on OEM graphics driver from HP long time back. Started used AMD's beta versions directly, without any problem. You can directly download the latest stable version (13.12, 18-Dec-2013) from here. http://www2.ati.com/DriverS/mobile/13-12_mobility_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe. This is working. There are problems of incomplete downloads, if you go the amd.com support diagnostics. By now the problem could have been solved, though.
