Dear HP,

Kindly help me on how to solve the problem with my unit, it is really getting so hot even when its just only 5 minutes in used.

I would appreciate any help; my unit is a Pavillion dm3. Thank you so much.

Please provide the full model number...dm3-xxxx?

The laptop has some age on it. Dirt and dust can clog the fan.

These steps:

1. Get strong compressed air and blow it in the fan grille while you hold the fan blades from spinning with a paperclip shoved in there.

2. Open the laptop and remove the heatsink/fan and clean out dust, apply new thermal compound between the heatsink and processor.

3. Last resort-replace the fan and heatsink. They are not expensive so some people skip #2 and head straight to #3 if #1 fails.
