I am confused.

Which statements are true:

* when my laptop is turned off, and the AC power is connected, the battery regains its charge.

* when my laptop is turned off, and the battery has been removed from my laptop, the laptop will power-on & boot.

* when my laptop is turned off, and the battery is present, and has some charge, and the AC adapter is not connected, the laptop will power-on and boot.

Have you booted your laptop, and entered the "HP Diagnostics" screen, and run a test of the battery?
