"Internet Explorer cannot display webpage"

Hello,

I have a laptop, with IE version7.0.6001.18226, on a 32Bit OS with Vista Home Basic.

When I open IE, I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage".

I have already troubleshooted with my ISP, and through other links on the interent(via another computer).

-power off and on router(wireless)

-reset default settings in internet options

-delete all temp files, cookies, history

-uninstall and reinstall network adaptor

-disable addons

- uninstalled free version AVG (although never caused any issues before)

-started in safe mode, but to no avail.

****This laptop IS connected, as I Pinged Google, and got 4 replies, as well, my Limewire has full connectivity.

It just seems that IE is at fault somehow.

Please advise,

much appreciated!

VP LP :)

PS....this  is an ACER laptop......

Re: "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage"

Thanks for your help....I ended up taking it in to get fixed....the guy said it was something to do with some registry keys and possible Malware.

IE is working now.  Thanks again.

Re: "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage"

Use a different browser as it is Vista and IE that are causing the issue.  Fire Fox, Safari or Chrome.

Re: "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage"

The issue has resurfaced with IE8 and vista 64bit.

Re: "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage"

Try uninstalling the trial of Norton with the Norton Removal Tool

Re: "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage"

I am using Vista with 2 users.  Internet Explorer opens and works fine with one of the users, but when I switch users IE opens but does not connect.  It will not close either in the 2nd user, requiring me to cntl alt delete.  How can I get it to connect for both users?  Internet is connected for both users - email works fine.

Thanks
